Services and Mare Care

Here at Inspiration Farm we provide excellent mare care facilities.

All visiting mares are housed in individual, strong good sized safe grassy yards with electric standoffs, adequate shelter and water.

They receive daily supervision and are hand fed twice daily or as per owners request. They can be rugged and have feet trimmed on request.

Mares are hand served or pasture bred depending on temperament and breeding behavior of mare.

We concern ourselves with ensuring that all mares are sufficiently in full heat by proper natural teasing done at the stallion and mare’s leisure over the solid teasing board, before being bred.

We have had to date a 99% success rate this way with the 1% mare having a history of poor breeding successes previously.

Our mares are brought into individual foaling paddocks when close to foaling.

This ensures correct bonds are formed and there is no risk of them swapping foals at birth.

The foals are handled from birth then they are later introduced into larger paddocks for socialization with other horses.

Our stallions are housed securely and separately and is at no risk of jumping the fence to serve mares.

They are well adjusted happy individuals who are kept in a natural environment with horses of all ages and sexes in adjacent nearby paddocks for company.

Agistment rates start from $7.00 per day (subject to variation due to feed prices and availability)
